This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Collaborate with business teams to analyze current workflows, pinpoint root causes of issues, and create coherent future-state systems.
• Take ownership of architecture, workflow design, and data management for implemented systems.
• Guarantee seamless interoperability of systems with the wider technology landscape.
• Convert business requirements into system and data specifications.
• Interpret technical limitations into clear, actionable terms for stakeholders.
• Manage delivery coordination across Cloud, Engineering, and external vendors.
• Minimize dependence on uncoordinated third-party solutions.
• Develop design patterns, documentation, and data governance protocols.
• Design regulated systems that adhere to data integrity, validation, and compliance standards in collaboration with QA and IT compliance.
• Transition delivered systems along with documentation and design rationale to the long-term custodians.
• Over 7 years of proven experience in designing and implementing cross-functional business systems and workflows from start to finish.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer systems or a related field is advantageous.
• Strong skills in systems thinking and data architecture.
• Capability to model how processes, systems, and data integrate across teams.
• Proven history of collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and foster alignment without direct authority.
• Proficiency in adhering to standards established by infrastructure, engineering, and security functions.
• Exceptional communication abilities suitable for both executive and technical audiences.
• Comfort in navigating ambiguity and operating within a broad scope in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools in everyday tasks; baseline proficiency is expected.
• Preferred: experience in life sciences, biotech, or another regulated sector, with insights into Clinical Development workflows and clinical data.
• Preferred: knowledge of GxP, ALCOA+, HIPAA, SOX, or SOC2 standards.
• Preferred: experience with clinical, eTMF, or EDC systems; integration and data platforms; workflow or document management tools.
• Preferred: prior experience as an internal architect or consultant addressing organically developed systems.
