Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Logging

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with product and design stakeholders to assess the direction of logging products and ensure team alignment and prioritization.

• Oversee projects that span across product and infrastructure roadmaps.

• Define delivery sequencing and manage daily execution in line with priorities.

• Distribute work among individual contributors to foster a positive team environment.

• Support and recruit a team of over 10 engineers through constructive feedback, coaching, and performance management.

• Eliminate execution obstacles and enhance the team's efficiency and velocity.

• Take responsibility for production reliability within the product area, focusing on uptime, tools, and operational processes.

• Collaborate with fellow engineering leaders on organizational initiatives.

• Gain insights into Chronosphere’s platform, customer requirements, architecture, distributed storage systems, ongoing projects, and roadmap.

• Engage in the development of small features during onboarding to familiarize yourself with the technology stack.

• Take charge of the area roadmap, set priorities and delivery plans, and spearhead strategic initiatives.

• Proven history of developing and fostering robust engineering teams.

• Practical technical skills to navigate and contribute to the engineering roadmap effectively.

• Experience collaborating with product and design teams.

• Capability to transform ambiguity into clear direction and priorities for the team through alignment and accountability.

• Proficiency in establishing and modifying processes to empower the team.

• Experience in translating high-level requirements into actionable execution plans with successful outcomes.

• Familiarity with enterprise software and software as a service (SaaS).

• Understanding of building, validating, releasing, and maintaining highly reliable services for demanding business customers.

• Experience in coaching and developing software engineers from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

• Empathy and insight into how to assist engineers in performing at their best.

• Ability to support and recruit a team of over 10 engineers.
