Engineering Manager – Growth Foundations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and guide a diverse team of engineers in delivering essential systems and features that drive growth.

• Collaborate daily with Product and Design teams to establish project scope, prioritize tasks, and ensure smooth execution.

• Maintain clear expectations, provide realistic estimates, and ensure transparent communication with stakeholders.

• Offer technical direction for architectural decisions and implementation strategies.

• Cultivate a culture of accountability, trust, learning, impact, and autonomy within the team.

• Enhance team processes, communication, and collaboration across different time zones.

• Collaborate with other engineering leaders to ensure consistency and best practices within the Growth team.

• Utilize AI tools on a daily basis to boost personal and team productivity.

• Remain actively involved in the codebase, writing production-quality code and establishing standards for quality, reliability, and speed.

• Deliver AI-powered systems, tools, automations, and foundational Growth infrastructure that serve millions of users worldwide.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and achieving high-quality outcomes in a collaborative setting.

• Strong leadership abilities, including coaching, providing clarity, and empowering team members.

• Robust technical background, particularly in backend development.

• Capability to participate in design discussions and conduct code reviews.

• Strong individual contributor experience with hands-on production-grade coding.

• High proficiency in modern AI-driven development practices and regular use of AI tools.

• Familiarity with one or more contemporary programming languages, such as TypeScript, Rust, Go, or Python.

• A product-oriented mindset focused on user impact and key performance metrics.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Experience working within distributed, remote-first teams.

• Candidates may need to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments.

• Professional experience in designing, building, or managing backend systems in a production environment.

• Experience in directly managing and developing software engineers.

• Experience collaborating with Product and Design teams to define project scope, prioritize tasks, and achieve product outcomes.
