This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Lead the Frontend Platform and Navigation teams, taking ownership of performance, delivery, and customer outcomes.
• Establish expectations, delegate tasks, mentor, and develop team members while providing constructive feedback and addressing performance issues.
• Manage hiring and team planning for two geographically distributed engineering squads.
• Collaborate with customers, community members, and internal users to guide the development of roadmaps and set priorities.
• Work alongside Product, Design, and engineering leaders to prioritize tasks, resolve dependencies, and make informed trade-offs.
• Oversee the entire delivery process from discovery to rollout and measurement, setting key milestones and managing associated risks.
• Leverage AI to analyze research, inform roadmap and resource decisions, and enhance coordination and reporting.
• Enhance squad planning, decision-making, and delivery through the use of AI and automation.
• Define the engineering direction for frontend foundations, developer experience, accessibility, architecture, tooling, reliability, and multitenant capabilities.
• Set the engineering direction for navigation, search, and resource organization.
• Maintain engineering standards for quality, security, and operability, including validation of AI-assisted work.
• Drive improvements across Grafana and R&D to boost engineering productivity and achieve better business outcomes.
• Participate in the engineering management on-call rotation and implement enhancements that minimize recurring disruptions.
• Utilize Grafana’s AI capabilities for observability, incident investigation, and management.
• Extensive experience managing senior engineers, fostering healthy teams, and developing technical leaders.
• Strong technical background in modern web or frontend systems.
• Proven track record of transforming ambiguous, cross-team challenges into clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Strong product insight and customer judgment.
• Clear and concise written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a remote, globally distributed organization.
• Appreciation for open-source development practices.
• Hands-on experience with AI and automation in leadership roles and guiding teams in their adoption.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, or a similar large-scale frontend ecosystem (bonus).
• Leadership experience in developer platform teams, including plugins or extensions (bonus).
• Experience with navigation, search, information architecture, or resource management products (bonus).
• Background in multitenant SaaS or major platform migration (bonus).
• Experience with widely adopted open-source products (bonus).
