Senior Manager, Software Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of software developers.

• Offer career guidance, support personal growth, and enhance performance through constructive feedback and coaching.

• Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.

• Oversee the architecture and technical design of intricate distributed software systems across product and platform layers.

• Engage in design and code reviews.

• Balance short-term deliverables with a long-term architectural vision, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and management of technical debt.

• Plan, resource, and implement software development projects utilizing Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Align team goals with business priorities in partnership with Product and Design teams.

• Monitor delivery progress, tackle blockers, and manage risks and dependencies.

• Establish and enhance engineering processes and workflows.

• Ensure effective testing, monitoring, and deployment strategies are in place.

• Lead post-mortem reviews and execute operational enhancements.

• Communicate project status, technical challenges, and decisions throughout the organization.

• Translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

• Represent the engineering team in strategic planning, roadmap discussions, and customer interactions when necessary.

• Foster innovation and experimentation while keeping abreast of emerging technologies.

• Collaborate with teams across Canada, the UK, India, and North America.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software development.

• More than 2 years in a leadership or engineering management role.

• Proven success in leading technical teams through complex projects that have architectural significance.

• Strong understanding of contemporary software engineering practices, cloud-native systems, microservices, and scalable infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with product features and platform components.

• Solid grasp of Agile methodologies and experience in driving delivery within an iterative environment.

• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution abilities.

• A passion for developing talent, building robust engineering cultures, and nurturing team growth.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Experience in AI/ML or developing features that integrate LLM-based technologies.

• Background in large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.

• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Terraform, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and React.

• Expected to work from 11am–7:30pm IST.
