This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance within the engineering domain.
• Build and manage one or more teams to deliver software while adhering to and enhancing engineering best practices.
• Oversee, mentor, and develop engineers across both mobile and backend platforms.
• Clarify technical requirements, prioritize tasks, and manage projects to ensure timely delivery through leading daily scrum sessions.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to establish a bold yet achievable roadmap for executives and stakeholders.
• Foster reliable and predictable team performance using clear objectives, data, KPIs, transparency, and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Promote the adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows, including development tools, documentation, testing support, code review enhancements, and developer empowerment.
• Provide KPIs, status updates, and metrics reports to executives and key stakeholders.
• Recruit, evaluate, and onboard a diverse range of engineering talent.
• Align stakeholders across Fanatics with actionable roadmaps.
• Stay technically engaged in discussions regarding architecture, operational reviews, development processes, and engineering quality practices while empowering engineers with implementation specifics.
• Travel occasionally to Fanatics offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities.
• Develop software for the Fanatics App, a digital sports platform that integrates free-to-play games, live events, e-commerce, and innovative product experiences.
• 3+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams.
• 4+ years of experience in building highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems.
• Knowledge of a wide array of design methodologies and the ability to break down architecture for development by various teams.
• Capable of scoping projects with specific timelines to meet business objectives.
• Skilled in identifying essential features, triaging tasks, and negotiating with Product Management.
• Proficient in communicating complex technical topics to engineers, technical leaders, marketing and operations teams, and non-technical functional leaders.
• Familiarity with Agile software delivery and SCRUM methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent report writing skills with the capability to gather, evaluate, analyze, and logically organize information.
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, rapidly growing environment with shifting priorities and swift decision-making processes.
• Team-oriented mindset and a willingness to do what is necessary to complete tasks.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally within an enterprise setting.
• Preferred: experience in a start-up environment.
• Preferred: a robust background in mobile software engineering.
• Preferred: experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and/or Compose Multiplatform.
• Preferred: enthusiasm for sports cards, collectibles, or live commerce.
