This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead and develop a well-rounded team of engineers by establishing expectations, providing feedback, and nurturing their growth.
• Take ownership of the team's technical direction and multi-quarter planning.
• Link roadmap initiatives to customer trust and business results, including redesigns for identity verification and structural enhancements.
• Empower the tech lead and engineers to uphold design and quality standards.
• Facilitate technical design and ensure cross-functional alignment.
• Manage the availability, reliability, and performance of systems critical to consumers.
• Engage in on-call duties and incident response to minimize operational challenges.
• Foster collaboration across different organizations and influence partner experiences and foundational team roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, and other Engineering teams on cross-functional projects.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in managing and developing engineering teams.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering software for consumers.
• Proven ability to execute in ambiguous situations.
• Technical acumen to steer architecture, quality, and reliability decisions.
• Experience in leading substantial technical initiatives from start to finish.
• Ideally, experience in decoupling or re-platforming consumer-facing systems under defined timelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational influence capabilities.
• Proven track record of building consensus and achieving results in complex environments without direct authority.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
