This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Supervise the underwriting and validation of credit risk processes.
• Lead, guide, and manage a team of quantitative experts while establishing strategic objectives.
• Conduct independent assessments of advanced machine learning models used in underwriting and credit risk management.
• Assess the conceptual integrity, data quality, and performance reliability through evaluations, reviews, and ongoing monitoring.
• Identify model deficiencies and work alongside model owners and developers to address validation issues.
• Develop and enhance the enterprise-wide Model Risk Management framework in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Liaise with Accounting, Internal Controls, and Compliance departments to ensure adherence to internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Over 9 years of professional experience in a highly technical capacity such as model development, validation, or quantitative analytics.
• Strong comprehension of machine learning modeling, underwriting, and credit risk management.
• Proficient scripting skills in Python.
• Expertise in using SQL for manipulating and analyzing large, complex datasets.
• Demonstrated success in recruiting, managing, and mentoring quantitative teams.
• Capability to integrate strategic oversight with practical technical tasks.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or Data Science.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, an inquisitive nature regarding model mechanics, and critical thinking skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to varied audiences.
