This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead qualitative research and evaluations with colleges and universities.
• Gather and code interview, focus group, and open-ended survey data across campus consulting projects.
• Consistently apply CDI coding frameworks and uphold coding quality across various projects.
• Act as the primary liaison with the Research team and assist in updating codeframes.
• Organize data collection logistics in collaboration with campus partners, aligning with the academic calendar.
• Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to uncover themes, patterns, and insights.
• Take ownership of reports, memos, presentations, and narratives intended for clients.
• Present findings and recommendations to external stakeholders.
• Enhance CDI's methodology for evaluating campus and Institutional Change Model consulting efforts.
• Conduct interviews and draft case studies.
• Identify institutional highlights for Culture Change projects in collaboration with the Communications team.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and partners on assessing organizational culture and fostering conditions for dialogue and open inquiry.
• Report directly to the Senior Director of Campus Culture Change.
• A minimum of 5 years of applied qualitative research experience, or a graduate degree with significant fieldwork.
• Experience in personally conducting interviews and focus groups.
• Proficient in coding large volumes of data consistently using a codebook.
• Familiarity with multi-coder quality assurance or inter-rater reliability is advantageous.
• Strong skills in analytic writing.
• Capability to integrate survey findings with qualitative data.
• Experience in managing multiple projects, codebook versions, and deadlines.
• Understanding of organizational culture measurement.
• Ability to merge interviews, documents, and survey data within measurement strategies.
• Skill in coordinating with institutional research, academic leadership, and student affairs.
• Sound judgment across ideological viewpoints and a commitment to nonpartisan objectivity.
• Proficient in qualitative analysis software; preference for Dovetail, but familiarity with Dedoose, NVivo, ATLAS.ti, or MAXQDA is welcome.
• Utilizes AI to assist in coding and drafting while ensuring human-led interpretation.
• Must reside in the U.S.
