This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
⢠Take charge of day-to-day operations and continuous enhancement of Multiplierās payroll function.
⢠Accurately, timely, and compliantly process semi-monthly payroll for all employees.
⢠Review and verify new hires, terminations, changes in compensation, benefit deductions, leave payments, timesheets, overtime, PTO, and pay adjustments.
⢠Manage 401(k) contributions, health insurance premiums, and other benefit deductions; reconcile with vendors.
⢠Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and best practices.
⢠Process wage garnishments, court-ordered deductions, off-cycle payrolls, and special payments.
⢠Review payroll tax returns and payments; prepare year-end W-2 forms.
⢠Maintain payroll records and provide documentation for financial and 401(k) audits.
⢠Co-manage the HRIS, troubleshoot issues, configure automated workflows, and maintain system documentation.
⢠Ensure payroll data integrity, generate reports, reconcile payroll accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
⢠Manage vendor relationships and data integrations.
⢠Identify opportunities for process improvements, update systems and documentation, and communicate changes effectively.
⢠Provide prompt responses and documentation to employees and external stakeholders.
⢠Educate employees about payroll policies and procedures.
⢠Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Project teams, vendors, and auditors.
⢠Report directly to the Managing Director of Accounting.
⢠Minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. payroll administration, including multi-state payroll processing.
⢠Bachelorās or Associate degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field is preferred; relevant years of experience may substitute for a degree.
⢠Proficient knowledge of federal and state payroll laws, regulations, tax requirements, tax codes, labor laws, and wage and hour laws.
⢠Experience administering payroll within an integrated HRIS/payroll platform.
⢠Strong Excel skills and reporting abilities, with a knack for data analysis.
⢠Familiarity with Rippling is a plus.
⢠Proven attention to detail, accuracy, and dedication to data integrity.
⢠Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical and privacy standards.
⢠Strong customer service orientation coupled with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
⢠Ability to simplify complex payroll concepts for better understanding.
⢠Capability to manage competing priorities and adapt to evolving regulations and technology.
⢠Commitment to Multiplierās mission and values.
⢠CPP certification is a plus.
⢠Successful completion of background checks is required.
⢠All employees operate from home offices.
⢠Occasional travel (1ā2 times per year) for all-team in-person meetings.
