This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the electronic time collection system for Calista.

• Input data from paper timesheets.

• Ensure payment of federal and state payroll taxes.

• Manage child support and other garnishment payments.

• Handle new hire payroll paperwork.

• Process leave, vacation, and sick time accruals.

• Print and distribute pay stubs and checks.

• Maintain confidential employee records and documentation.

• Operate in a condition of continuous alertness and safety.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

• Function in a fast-paced payroll environment requiring multitasking.

• This position does not entail supervisory duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• Foundational working knowledge and experience in payroll functions and regulations.

• Preferred advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Capability to understand and interpret safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and Company Standard Operating Procedures.

• Proficiency in writing standard reports and correspondence.

• Ability to communicate effectively in front of groups, including customers or employees.

• Competence in performing basic arithmetic and calculating rates, ratios, and percentages; ability to create and interpret bar graphs.

• Skill in typing at least 45 words per minute with accuracy.

• Familiarity with database, spreadsheet, and word processing software; proficiency in Microsoft packages is preferred.

• Ability to thrive in a multi-business environment typical of a Native Corporation.

• Commitment to pursuing ongoing educational opportunities to remain technically proficient.

• An Associate’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of one year of payroll experience, or at least four years of payroll experience alongside basic college-level accounting coursework.

• Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar integrated software.

• Preference for candidates with exposure to government contracts.

• Must successfully pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check.

• Regular attendance is mandatory.

• Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
