This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +12 more states.
• Develop and uphold payer-specific playbooks that encompass CVS Pharmacy’s key payer relationships.
• Create frameworks for pre-positioning prior to significant negotiations.
• Conduct structured deal reviews and debrief sessions.
• Promote the use of approved negotiation preparation tools throughout the function.
• Convert market intelligence, stakeholder insights, and negotiation experiences into a replicable strategy.
• Keep track of changes in PBM and health plan strategies.
• Gain insights into the objectives of negotiation counterparts.
• Design practical playbooks and tools to enhance negotiation consistency, accuracy, and confidence.
• Lead post-mortem evaluations of negotiation results.
• Enhance strategies and bolster playbooks based on lessons learned.
• Collaborate regularly with Directors, Lead Directors, and higher management.
• Assist in the development towards deal ownership within Payer Relations.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in contract negotiation, pharmacy benefit management, managed care, or a similar commercial field.
• More than 5 years of experience in strategy, market intelligence, consulting, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in leading, mentoring, developing, or influencing team members and stakeholders in a complex, matrixed setting.
• Proven experience in translating intricate market, stakeholder, and business insights into clear, actionable tools, frameworks, or strategic guidance.
• Experience in conducting retrospective, post-mortem, or after-action analyses with participants at Director-level and above.
• Proven ability to recognize patterns, extract lessons learned, and integrate them into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated experience in driving the sustained adoption of new processes and frameworks.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and shape decisions without direct authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to influence senior audiences without direct authority.
• Consistent and reliable attendance is a critical function of this role.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Formal training or certification in negotiation.
• Experience in a center of excellence, enablement, or capability-building function.
• Experience in creating materials for both executive audiences and operational partner teams.
• Experience in dynamic, fast-paced environments where continuity and knowledge transfer are essential.
• Background in facilitation, coaching, or instructional design.
• Interest in advancing towards commercial deal ownership within Payer Relations.
