Regional EHS Manager – Polymer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversees the implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives within a designated region.

• Delivers direct EHS support to manufacturing and operational sites through site evaluations, assessments, audits, and engagement with leadership.

• Collaborates with facility and regional leaders to enhance EHS performance and foster a safety-centric culture.

• Performs EHS evaluations on capital projects, equipment installations, process alterations, and operational modifications.

• Assists in project approval assessments, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, startup evaluations, and operational readiness reviews.

• Addresses significant incidents and high-risk situations through investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.

• Offers technical guidance and coaching on regulatory compliance, hazard recognition, risk management, and EHS best practices.

• Aids in corporate, regional, and facility-level EHS initiatives, programs, campaigns, and enhancement projects.

• Identifies compliance risks and formulates corrective actions for audit outcomes, incidents, inspections, and regulatory standards.

• Analyzes EHS performance data, leading indicators, and risk metrics to detect trends and prioritize enhancements.

• Supports regulatory inspections, customer audits, and external interactions.

• Promotes the sharing of lessons learned and best practices among facilities.

• Drives the implementation of regional and global EHS roadmaps through actionable strategies and measurable outcomes.

• Collaborates with global and regional EHS leaders to establish standards, management systems, governance processes, and performance expectations.

• Standardizes EHS processes, tools, and methodologies across facilities.

• Works in conjunction with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, and Supply Chain teams.

• Develops and enhances EHS standards, procedures, guidance documents, and management system requirements.

• Mentors and develops facility EHS personnel and operational leaders.

• Tracks emerging regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• Typically 10 or more years of advancing EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, packaging, or similar operational settings.

• Experience in supporting multiple facilities, business units, or geographical areas within a regional or multi-site organization.

• Proven track record in leading incident investigations, risk assessments, audits, compliance initiatives, and operational enhancements.

• Strong understanding of EHS regulations, standards, and risk management principles relevant to manufacturing and industrial operations.

• Knowledge of machine safety, contractor safety, energy control, risk assessments, and operational hazard control strategies.

• Capability to assess capital projects, equipment installations, and process changes for EHS risks and compliance factors.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, EHS information systems, reporting platforms, and data analysis tools.

• Experience in supporting capital projects, equipment evaluations, machine safety programs, contractor safety management, and process risk assessments is preferred.

• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, ISO Lead Auditor, or equivalent are preferred.
