This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and cultivate a high-performing team responsible for managing intricate environmental, mass tort, asbestos, PFAS, and long-tail liability claims.
• Offer strategic guidance on claim resolution, encompassing coverage analysis, liability evaluation, litigation management, reserving, reinsurance reporting, and settlement strategies.
• Drive claim results through financial stewardship, disposition strategies, and prompt claim resolution.
• Supervise litigation and dispute resolution processes, including collaboration with outside counsel, experts, consultants, and vendor partners.
• Track claim performance, reserving accuracy, operational metrics, and emerging trends.
• Collaborate with Legal, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Finance, and senior leadership on complex claims and business challenges.
• Prepare and deliver claim strategies, exposure assessments, and operational updates to senior leadership.
• Promote accountability, inclusion, continuous learning, and employee engagement through effective coaching and performance management.
• Strengthen technical capabilities and succession planning through coaching, knowledge transfer, and development planning.
• Ensure adherence to claim handling standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Utilize data analytics, technology, and AI-enabled tools to enhance decision-making, efficiency, and claim outcomes.
• Recognize emerging claim trends and communicate the financial, operational, and reputational impacts.
• Oversee third-party administrators and vendors to ensure contract compliance, service quality, and cost control.
• Travel occasionally as necessary.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• 10+ years of pertinent claims, insurance coverage, or reinsurance experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and direct reports.
• Advanced knowledge in environmental and mass tort claims, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement processes.
• Strong understanding of insurance, coverage interpretation, and relevant case law.
• In-depth knowledge of claims processes, systems, and regulatory standards.
• Capability to analyze complex data, financial forecasts, and operational performance metrics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled technologies, along with adaptability to new systems and tools.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, including coaching, mentoring, and team development.
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the capability to translate complex issues into actionable solutions.
• Proven track record of driving results, enhancing processes, and managing competing priorities.
• A dedicated, distraction-free workspace and reliable internet connection are required for remote work.
• Minimum internet speeds of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload are necessary.
• A successful background investigation is mandatory.
