This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Direct AbbVie’s government affairs and market access strategy for oncology products across Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
• Create and execute regional government affairs, health policy, and market access strategies.
• Obtain and sustain market access alongside optimal reimbursement for oncology products from provincial payers and cancer agencies.
• Build and nurture relationships with the offices of provincial ministers and premiers, deputy ministers, senior public servants, decision-makers, public and private payers, and drug plan managers.
• Track legislation, regulations, and policies; identify challenges and opportunities; and formulate strategic responses and recommendations.
• Shape provincial legislation, regulations, and policies by articulating AbbVie’s clinical and strategic positions into persuasive engagement strategies.
• Create customer-centric annual regional plans, oversee their execution and impact, and ensure alignment with national priorities.
• Collaborate with Market Access, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Medical Affairs, Patient Engagement, Communications, Marketing, and cross-functional brand teams.
• Support provincial evidence submissions and initiatives for patient advocacy.
• Lead projects involving diverse stakeholders, positioning AbbVie as a knowledgeable and trusted partner.
• Provide decision-makers and drug plan managers with clinical research, health economics, outcomes research, and real-world evidence.
• Represent AbbVie in relevant provincial and regional biopharmaceutical industry committees.
• Oversee regional brand and corporate budgets while contributing to financial planning cycles.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, science, public policy, health administration, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of pertinent experience in government affairs, market access, public or health policy, consulting, or the public or government sector.
• Demonstrated experience in influencing legislation, regulations, health policies, or public drug plan reimbursement decisions.
• Strong skills in policy analysis with the ability to evaluate healthcare bills and policies.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Canadian healthcare and reimbursement landscape, including provincial governments, public drug plans, private insurers, the Canadian Drug Agency, and INESSS.
• Experience in engaging key stakeholders and payers in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
• Knowledge of health economics, pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research, and principles of real-world evidence.
• Capability to forge strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
• Exceptional skills in government and stakeholder relationship management.
• Strong strategic decision-making capabilities and the ability to foresee and influence the external environment.
• Proficient in translating corporate and brand priorities into tangible, strategic plans.
• Ability to craft compelling value propositions for decision-makers, payers, and public health-sector stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, and strategic planning abilities.
• Strong aptitude for cross-functional collaboration and influencing others.
• Excellent storytelling and communication skills.
• Capacity to operate in a complex, dynamic, and highly regulated environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with artificial intelligence tools.
• A valid driver’s license and passport are required.
• Fluency in both French and English is mandatory.
• Strong ability to work within a matrix environment and collaborate effectively.
