This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
β’ Manage the entire lifecycle of innovation initiatives, starting from initial research and brainstorming to the deployment of proof-of-concept on humanoid platforms.
β’ Take ownership of the AI Innovation program's success, ensuring accountability for quality and delivery within the team.
β’ Lead research efforts into innovative AI solutions addressing complex robotics challenges, including real-time planning, human-robot interaction, and adaptive motor control.
β’ Enhance the data flywheel strategy by integrating teleoperation, synthetic data, and fleet learning to improve fleet performance and reliability.
β’ Collaborate with Hardware and Robot Software teams to refine next-generation sensor suites for upcoming AI architectures.
β’ Advocate for the existing team's skills and represent their interests to senior management.
β’ Oversee performance assessment cycles, develop personalized growth plans, and spearhead hiring to expand the AI Innovation team.
β’ Create a safe and collaborative atmosphere that promotes open communication and learning from unsuccessful experiments.
β’ Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
β’ At least 8 years of experience in AI/ML, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position.
β’ Proven expertise in developing and implementing real-time AI solutions for robotics, autonomous systems, or other mission-critical applications.
β’ Strong proficiency in key AI domains, such as computer vision, reinforcement learning, and large language models (LLMs) in relation to robotics.
β’ Established history of managing and scaling high-performance engineering or research teams.
β’ Experience in deploying models on resource-constrained edge devices while balancing inference speed, power consumption, and thermal constraints.
β’ All positions are based in the U.S.; candidates must possess current authorization to work in the United States.
