Manager, Automation OT Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist in the execution of the Operational Technology (OT) strategy and roadmap focused on data center expansion, reliability, and security.

• Oversee design coordination, deployment assistance, and operations of Building Management Systems (BMS), Power Management Systems (PMS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) based control systems.

• Standardize OT platforms, processes, and governance across various data center locations.

• Supervise monitoring, alerting, and incident response within OT environments.

• Implement and manage OT change control procedures.

• Coordinate root cause analyses and corrective measures for incidents and failures.

• Manage vendor relationships, service delivery, and performance evaluations.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to OT engineers, technicians, and contractors.

• Establish team priorities, delegate tasks, and ensure that support activities are executed safely and on schedule.

• Offer feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations for direct reports and team members operating in a matrix structure.

• Ensure OT systems comply with regulatory, compliance, and customer standards.

• Assist with commissioning, testing, and acceptance processes for both new builds and retrofit projects.

• Assess and implement emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Internet of Things (IoT), and digital twins.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, IT, Cybersecurity, Design, Construction, and site management.

• Monitor and report on OT performance, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), alarms, uptime, and other metrics to leadership.

• Manage escalations and facilitate the prompt resolution of OT-related issues.

• Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and OT best practices.

• Secure OT networks, address vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance.

• Maintain system drawings, network diagrams, change logs, and other OT-related documentation.

• Support budgeting, service agreements, hiring, onboarding, training, staffing, audits, compliance reviews, and customer reporting.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance OT reliability, scalability, and sustainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in Operational Technology (OT)/Industrial Control Systems (ICS), automation, or controls; 5–7 years preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in data centers, critical facilities, utilities, or large-scale industrial settings.

• Strong understanding of BMS, PMS, SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networking protocols.

• Familiarity with OT cybersecurity frameworks, such as NIST and IEC 62443.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Proven track record in supporting the scaling of OT systems in a rapidly growing, mission-critical environment.

• Travel is required at approximately 25%, with the possibility of increasing over time.

• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

• Physical ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear.

• Ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
