Senior Manager, Global Sourcing – Supply

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Direct global sourcing and supply strategies for designated product categories.

• Create and enhance the global supplier portfolio by identifying capability gaps, assessing new sourcing markets and manufacturing partners, and qualifying key suppliers.

• Collaborate with Product Development and Business Operations regarding supplier selection, manufacturability, target costs, materials, lead times, and commercialization strategies.

• Supervise new product development and commercialization from concept to large-scale production.

• Manage strategic supplier relationships and drive significant commercial negotiations.

• Formulate cost-management and value-engineering strategies across the portfolio.

• Oversee supply and inventory planning, ensuring a balance between availability, lead times, capacity, MOQs, and supply risk.

• Lead supplier capacity and production readiness planning for product launches, seasonal demand, and peak periods.

• Maintain the supplier-network compliance framework, including responsible sourcing, product and regulatory compliance, documentation, testing, and applicable standards.

• Ensure adherence to import/export regulations, customs requirements, product classification, country-of-origin stipulations, duties, tariffs, and shipping documentation.

• Monitor tariffs, duties, trade regulations, and sourcing country requirements while developing mitigation strategies.

• Identify and alleviate global sourcing and supply risks.

• Establish and manage supplier performance expectations through scorecards, business reviews, corrective-action plans, and executive escalation.

• Partner with Quality, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Planning, and external customs and trade partners.

• Build strong relationships with supplier ownership and senior management.

• Discover emerging manufacturing technologies, materials, supplier capabilities, and sourcing opportunities.

• Define operating rhythms, processes, and visibility across sourcing, development, production, inventory, compliance, and supplier performance.

• Provide leadership, coaching, prioritization, and development for Global Sourcing & Supply team members.

• Travel internationally as needed for supplier visits, strategic business reviews, product development, production assessments, and sourcing activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in global sourcing, supply management, product development, manufacturing, or related supply chain roles.

• Significant experience working directly with global manufacturers and managing complex supplier relationships, preferably in consumer products, home, stationery, gifting, retail, or other design-led sectors.

• Proven experience in developing and executing sourcing strategies across diverse products, categories, or suppliers.

• Strong commercial acumen, including strategic supplier negotiations, cost management, pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and value engineering.

• Comprehensive understanding of supply and inventory planning, demand forecasting, production planning, capacity management, and purchase-order processes.

• In-depth knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes from concept to commercialization and large-scale production.

• Experience in managing supplier compliance and a working knowledge of international trade requirements, including customs, duties, tariffs, country of origin, product classification, and import documentation.

• Proven ability to assess and manage supplier performance, capacity, quality, compliance, and supply risk.

• Strong analytical and financial skills with the capability to evaluate trade-offs across cost, landed cost, quality, inventory, speed, innovation, compliance, and risk.

• Excellent relationship management and communication abilities, with a talent for influencing senior internal stakeholders and supplier leadership.

• Experience in leading, coaching, or developing team members.

• Comfortable functioning both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

• Willingness to travel internationally as necessary.
