Senior Manager, Field Engineering – Financial Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Report directly to a Director of Field Engineering.

• Oversee a team of Solutions Architects dedicated to Databricks’ Financial Services sector within the Regulated Industries Field Engineering group.

• Foster and champion a diverse technical sales team focused on enterprise software, big data/analytics, data engineering, data science, data warehousing, and generative AI.

• Collaborate with Sales and various Field Engineering technical teams to boost revenue and assist customers in achieving success with Databricks’ Data Intelligence Platform.

• Build and sustain an exceptional, efficient Field Engineering team to drive Databricks’ market expansion.

• Recruit, train, and develop a team of Solutions Architects.

• Propel customer success and deliver substantial business value.

• Maintain a robust pipeline of highly qualified candidates.

• Cultivate relationships throughout the organization to support customers and the team.

• Ensure Solutions Architects keep up-to-date with advanced knowledge of the Databricks technology stack.

• Promote continuous team learning and provide comprehensive customer solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in building and leading technical pre-sales teams, including the processes of hiring, onboarding, coaching, and mentoring.

• Over 8 years of experience in the data domain with a technical product, such as data warehousing, big data, machine learning, or generative AI.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to technical executives, guiding them in strategic data infrastructure decisions.

• Experience in leading technical qualification, conducting technical validations, facilitating architecture discussions, and delivering product demonstrations.

• Strong grasp of consumption-driven business models and long-term growth strategies.

• Proven experience in hiring, ramping up, and promoting high-performing candidates.

• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.

• Technical credibility among Engineering talent and leadership.

• Capability to influence and assess complex architectures, guiding teams and customers toward scalable solutions.
