This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Identify events that Plooto should attend, sponsor, or host, and assess participation levels based on potential for customer acquisition and support.
• Assess the ROI of both owned and sponsored events, and make investment recommendations in collaboration with Demand Gen.
• Develop and manage an annual event calendar that balances local, regional, and national opportunities.
• Manage the events budget to ensure all investments remain within financial limits.
• Suggest technology platforms for effective event management.
• Oversee the entire pre-event planning process, including budgets, timelines, vendor selection, booth design, materials, staffing, and logistics.
• Direct on-site execution for events ranging from intimate lunch-and-learns to large-scale conference sponsorships.
• Supervise owned events, such as lunch-and-learns, client dinners, and office visits.
• Prepare leadership for speaking engagements, panels, and other prominent opportunities.
• Provide briefings to sales teams prior to events.
• Collaborate with marketing to promote event participation before, during, and after each event.
• Operate autonomously throughout the entire event lifecycle.
• Monitor and report on event performance in relation to pipeline and utilization goals.
• Enhance processes and playbooks to boost event efficiency.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in event marketing, field marketing, or a similar role, preferably within a B2B context.
• Proven history of strategic event planning along with meticulous on-site execution.
• Exceptional attention to detail and robust project management capabilities.
• Proficient in documenting and managing projects using Notion and ClickUp.
• Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration.
• Comfortable briefing executives, coordinating with sales teams, and aligning with marketing initiatives.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes from strategy to execution.
• Must be based in Ontario.
• Willingness to travel for approximately 10–15 events each year.
• Travel will predominantly be within Canada, particularly in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, with occasional trips to the U.S.
• Experience in SaaS, fintech, or marketing to accountants/bookkeepers in Canada is highly desirable.
