Senior Manager, ECAD Library Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Develop, oversee, and manage centralized ECAD libraries.

• Ensure adherence to industry standards and Collins-specific design criteria.

• Supervise the creation, validation, and release of electronic component symbols, footprints, and 3D models.

• Promote the standardization of library components and processes across various business units.

• Establish and uphold best practices for ECAD library management.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Digital Technology, and Manufacturing teams.

• Implement automation and advanced tools to enhance the creation, validation, and maintenance of libraries.

• Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead initiatives focused on efficiency and quality improvement.

• Ensure that components comply with regulatory, industry, and RTX-specific design standards.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for component processes and updates.

• Create and deliver training materials to engineers and designers.

• Address ECAD library-related issues and provide on-demand engineering support.

• Monitor and report on ECAD library usage, accuracy, and process enhancements.

• Utilize metrics to evaluate the success of library initiatives and pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of Librarians.

• Support professional development and offer constructive feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in ECAD library management, electronic design, or related fields within aerospace, defense, or similar sectors.

• Proficiency in ECAD tools such as Mentor Graphics (Xpedition), Cadence, Altium, or comparable software.

• Strong grasp of electronic components and PCB design principles.

• Understanding of heritage Rockwell Collins and industry standards, including IPC standards.

• Experience with library management software and PLM systems.

• Familiarity with automation tools for library management and component creation.

• Experience integrating ECAD libraries into simulation and analysis workflows.

• Knowledge of aerospace and defense electronic design standards and requirements.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
