This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of transitioning new formulas from high-quality bench-top samples through plant trials, initial production runs, and ongoing enhancements.
• Ensure that processes are effectively adapted to the specific equipment of each manufacturer.
• Assess new formulations early on to pinpoint any mismatches in equipment or processes.
• Collaborate with sensory and R&D teams to establish site-specific standards and document the rationale behind them.
• Lead the transition from trial and initial production to stable production while maintaining a connection to the SKU and site.
• Work with New Product Launch teams to validate manufacturing equipment and process capabilities.
• Identify any gaps in manufacturing capabilities prior to product launches.
• Assist in maintaining manufacturing capability information and organizing the manufacturer portfolio.
• Provide guidance to site-facing technical and quality teams using knowledge of commercialization processes and equipment.
• Help analyze production variations against sensory and quality benchmarks.
• Support site audits, which include SQF, BRC, and customer audits, by rigorously testing risk assessments and corrective/preventive actions.
• Highlight discrepancies between documented processes and everyday site practices for site-facing quality follow-up.
• Aid in root-cause investigations related to out-of-specification results, quality deviations, and ingredient or process failures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing coverage teams and site-facing quality personnel on investigations.
• Foster collaborative relationships with co-manufacturer quality, engineering, and operations teams.
• Clearly represent RYZE standards while building trust with manufacturing partners.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, along with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in R&D/formulation scale-up from bench to pilot to initial production.
• Hands-on support experience in plants or with co-manufacturers.
• Background in ingredient supply or contract manufacturing is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency with paddle blenders, V-blenders, ribbon blenders, augers, and packaging lines.
• Experience in the food, beverage, or nutritional product sectors.
• Direct experience with GFSI audits, specifically SQF and BRC.
• Familiarity with food safety and quality documentation.
• Capability to advise site-facing quality teams without managing day-to-day audit relationships.
• Ability to establish trust-based relationships with manufacturing partners and navigate challenging conversations.
• Willingness to travel periodically to assigned manufacturing locations.
• Capability to travel around commercialization and launch milestones rather than primarily acting as an on-call responder.
