This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +2 more states.
• Identify opportunities for automation within patient access, coding, billing, claims management, payment posting, denials, collections, and reporting.
• Facilitate automation planning by assessing process improvement possibilities across revenue cycle operations.
• Oversee and execute automation project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and implementation activities.
• Collaborate with operational stakeholders to prioritize automation initiatives based on business requirements and operational impact.
• Monitor implementation milestones, risks, and outcomes.
• Conduct comprehensive process analysis to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, rework, and operational risks.
• Standardize workflows and operational practices to create scalable automation solutions.
• Promote continuous improvement through workflow analysis, identification of automation opportunities, and process standardization.
• Redesign workflows to enhance productivity, quality, turnaround time, and employee experience.
• Track, project, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to automation performance, operational efficiency, financial results, and adoption rates.
• Manage the implementation, testing, deployment, and optimization of AI and machine learning tools, workflow automation platforms, intelligent document processing, revenue cycle technologies, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with IT, data, analytics, and vendors on solution design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support.
• Oversee the automation lifecycle from business case development through stabilization and optimization.
• Ensure that automation solutions comply with security, audit, and regulatory standards.
• Foster partnerships across operations, finance, compliance, IT, analytics, and executive leadership.
• Convert operational challenges into scalable automation solutions and actionable business requirements.
• Assist with change management, training, and user adoption initiatives.
• Communicate project status, risks, outcomes, and ROI to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Coordinate activities among operational teams, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship, direction, and subject matter expertise regarding automation tools, workflows, and revenue cycle processes.
• Support knowledge sharing, documentation, and training initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, information systems, finance, operations, or a related field is required.
• Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or a related field) is preferred.
• Over 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, process improvement, automation, project management, or related fields.
• 3–5 years of experience in leading automation projects, process improvement initiatives, or cross-functional implementations.
• Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle functions, workflows, payer processes, and regulatory considerations.
• Experience in implementing automation technologies and process improvement initiatives within complex healthcare settings.
• Ability to support cross-functional initiatives and work collaboratively with operational, technical, and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with healthcare platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, Meditech, or similar systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with robotic process automation (RPA) tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or related certifications are preferred.
• Experience in supporting AI-enabled workflow automation or process transformation initiatives is preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements, including HIPAA and CMS regulations, is preferred.
