Senior Manager, Applied Field Engineering – AI/ML

📋 Description

• Lead a high-achieving team of Applied Field Engineers within the Applied Field Engineering division.

• Guide the team through technical sales interactions.

• Promote execution excellence and facilitate customer activation and utilization of Snowflake AI/ML features.

• Ensure customers transition workloads into production while maximizing contracted credit value.

• Mentor AFEs on best practices for technical sales engagements and focus on high-impact opportunities.

• Review and advise on customer architectures to avoid technical debt and ensure scalability.

• Engage in customer interactions as both a participant and coach, including architectural discussions and conversations at the executive level.

• Collect and relay field insights to senior management.

• Identify product gaps and customer obstacles to contribute to roadmap discussions.

• Collaborate with Sales leadership to synchronize technical resources with regional pipelines and key account priorities.

• Take part in Communities of Practice and endorse knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Recruit, onboard, and cultivate Applied Field Engineers.

• Foster a culture of Technical Sales excellence.

• Conduct regular one-on-ones, offer feedback, and support the career development of direct reports.

• Maintain the security and confidentiality of customer information.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in a pre-sales, technical sales, or technical consulting role.

• 2+ years of experience in people management, preferably overseeing technical overlay or specialist teams.

• Familiarity with consumption-based models, including promoting activation and usage of software services.

• Hands-on technical expertise in at least one area such as GenAI/LLMs, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, or Cloud Data Architecture.

• Capability to confidently engage with VP- and Director-level stakeholders and translate technical value into business results.

• A university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Ability to adhere to Snowflake's confidentiality and security standards.

• Authorization to work in the country of application.

• U.S. person status may be pertinent to the application.
