Senior Manager, Affirm Bank Accounting – Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish and lead the Bank accounting team by providing strategic guidance, overseeing recruitment, and offering coaching as we develop the function.

• Act as the main point of contact with Affirm, Inc. cross-functional teams to ensure effective service delivery in accordance with the Intercompany Program Agreement while upholding the necessary independent oversight for a regulated banking organization.

• Supervise all monthly reporting for both internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, ensuring that all submissions are completed on time.

• Develop a controlled regulatory reporting function to guarantee the timely and precise preparation of required filings (e.g., FFIEC 041 Call Reports, Part 363 Annual Reports, and Federal Reserve reporting).

• Collaborate closely with our external auditors to facilitate the annual Bank financial statement audit.

• Partner with our engineering and product teams to assess, enhance, and implement various tools aimed at automating accounting and reporting processes.

• Oversee additional processes and functions, including financial analysis and projects as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• An accounting designation such as CPA or CA.

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, or Treasury-related fields.

• At least 5 years of experience in people management.

• Proven experience in developing appropriate tools and processes, as well as scaling an Accounting team within a comparable industry.

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.

• Demonstrated skills in analysis, cash management, and financial modeling.

• Highly detail-oriented with a natural aptitude for critical thinking.

• Strategic, goal-oriented, focused, with a proactive “can-do” attitude.
