Corporate Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage all accounting and payroll functions, including the month-end closing process.

• Assist with invoicing and accounts payable tasks.

• Act as the in-house authority and primary contact for revenue recognition and operational matters.

• Create, oversee, and uphold accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls compliant with GAAP, internal standards, external audits, and regulations.

• Facilitate financial performance tracking and ensure alignment with forecasts.

• Aid in the preparation of both internal and external financial statements.

• Generate KPI reports, analyze root-cause trends, and provide variance insights for significant meetings.

• Collaborate with People Operations and leadership on headcount planning and projections.

• Examine quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.

• Guarantee that federal, state, and local payroll taxes are correctly calculated, paid, and recorded.

• Establish and maintain policies and procedures for travel and business expenses.

• Review and authorize all expenses.

• Optimize accounting systems and processes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.

• Report directly to the CEO.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA certification.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting.

• At least 7 years of experience in Finance, preferably within a startup environment.

• A degree in finance, statistics, economics, business, or related fields.

• Interest in developing infrastructure to support substantial growth while ensuring strong financial controls.

• Capability to communicate complex financial concepts to leaders throughout the organization.

• A strong desire to promote continuous process enhancements.

• Excellent Excel skills with the capability to handle large data sets.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks.
