Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Manage monthly financial close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and GAAP financial reporting.

• Aim to achieve a financial close within five business days.

• Provide actionable profit and loss statements for leadership review.

• Oversee QuickBooks Online, including the chart of accounts, accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, and cash flow visibility.

• Reconcile inventory across an expanding range of products and customer-specific configurations.

• Enhance costing methodologies, landed costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory controls.

• Assist with accounting for hardware sales, annual software subscriptions, and new service revenue streams.

• Identify and rectify errors while improving financial controls.

• Aid in selecting and implementing the next phase of accounting and ERP systems.

• Collaborate with operations and external tax, audit, and finance partners.

• Transition accounting processes in-house and help define the finance function.

⛳️ Requirements

• Controller-level responsibility for the financial records and closing processes.

• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.

• Significant experience in inventory and cost accounting within a physical product business.

• Practical experience with QuickBooks Online.

• Ability to enhance financial systems effectively.

• Proven track record of delivering results in a small, dynamic business with limited support.

• Experience in a startup growth environment.

• Experience with ERP implementations is highly valuable.

• Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience is a plus.

• Experience in hardware and subscription accounting is an advantage.

• CPA certification is preferable.

• Background in health technology is welcomed.

• Willingness to travel domestically approximately 25% of the time.

• Candidates must reside in the United States.
