Financial Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the outsourced controller for various clients.

• Serve as the main point of contact for business owners, internal finance teams, and external audit/tax partners.

• Clearly communicate, manage expectations, and provide confident advice to clients.

• Supervise accounting operations and ensure accuracy in the general ledger, accounts payable/accounts receivable, and reconciliations.

• Prepare and review financial statements.

• Lead the monthly closing process and conduct variance analysis.

• Guide Account Managers by assigning complex tasks, reviewing their work, and providing coaching.

• Educate others in advanced accounting practices across client portfolios.

• Take ownership of process improvement and software integration.

• Assess, recommend, and implement new systems.

• Create workflows to incorporate client-specific software.

• Improve quality, efficiency, and scalability for clients and the firm.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be based in the US.

• Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, five days a week during standard professional hours.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and finance.

• Significant multi-client cloud finance leadership experience.

• Proven experience in leading month-end closing processes.

• Background in implementing internal controls.

• Proficient in preparing audit-ready financials.

• Expertise in high-level financial reporting and analysis.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, lease accounting, and revenue recognition.

• Experience in managing or coordinating bookkeeping, accounts payable/accounts receivable, general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and revenue recognition.

• Familiarity with working alongside auditors, tax teams, and compliance partners.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

• Experience in a CPA firm or public accounting setting is strongly preferred.

• Exceptional communication skills through digital channels.

• Keen attention to detail and quality.

• Resourceful with strong problem-solving skills.

• Humble and open to coaching.

• Proven skills in delegation and coaching.

• Persistent and resilient.

• Reliable home internet connection and a suitable environment for video and phone calls.

• Must not engage in additional paid accounting tasks beyond the role with System Six.

• Employment will be on a W2 basis.

• This position does not fulfill the CPA experience requirement that involves substantial use of relevant CPA licensing skills.
