This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create and execute regional strategies that ensure timely and appropriate access for patients to Pfizer’s medicines and vaccines.
• Direct regional market access strategies specifically for Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
• Convert national reimbursement strategies into actionable plans specific to each province.
• Design and implement cross-functional plans for access and readiness for product launches and ongoing offerings.
• Recognize reimbursement pathways, dependencies for implementation, potential obstacles, risks, and opportunities.
• Offer regional insights to national reimbursement efforts, evidence generation, portfolio management, forecasting, and launch planning.
• Establish and nurture trusted relationships with provincial public payers and health system stakeholders.
• Lead or assist in payer engagement throughout the lifecycle of the product.
• Provide provincial insights into health technology assessment, value propositions for payers, reimbursement submissions, evidence generation priorities, negotiations with the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance, and planning for product listing agreements.
• Convert the needs of payers and health systems into actionable recommendations across functions.
• Detect discrepancies between reimbursement outcomes and patient or institutional access, then devise practical solutions.
• Act as Pfizer’s primary market access representative in Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
• Develop strategic account plans, stakeholder maps, engagement goals, customer insights, and follow-up actions.
• Keep track of developments in regional health care, reimbursement, funding, procurement, and policy.
• Cultivate relationships with organizations in patient advocacy, professional associations, industry, academia, research, and life sciences.
• Coordinate regional engagement efforts and connect customers with Pfizer’s subject matter experts.
• Lead access planning across functions in the region and align internal teams.
• Influence decisions and foster shared accountability in a complex matrix environment.
• Collaborate with Government Relations and Policy colleagues on issues impacting reimbursement or patient access.
• Provide insights on market access for government interactions, policy submissions, advocacy, and stakeholder strategies.
• Identify policy barriers and support initiatives that enhance patient access and the sustainability of health systems.
• Conduct all activities in accordance with Pfizer policies, relevant laws, industry codes, privacy regulations, and procedures for reporting adverse events and product complaints.
• A university degree in science, health sciences, pharmacy, epidemiology, economics, business, public policy, or a related field.
• At least five years of relevant experience in market access, reimbursement, public payer engagement, pharmaceuticals, health care, government, policy, or a related area.
• Strong understanding of Canadian public reimbursement, health technology assessment, public drug programs, and provincial funding processes.
• Familiarity with Quebec and knowledge of Atlantic Canada is preferred.
• Proven experience in developing regional access strategies, supporting product launches and reimbursement planning, and establishing trusted relationships with payers and funding decision-makers.
• Experience in negotiations with the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance, product listing agreements, formulary implementation, or public procurement is an advantage.
• Strong business acumen with the capability to translate complex information regarding payers, clinical data, economics, policy, and health systems into clear recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence within a matrixed environment.
• Excellent project management, analytical, communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities across a wide geographic area.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Quebec, Atlantic Canada, and other regions of Canada.
• Full professional proficiency in both written and spoken French and English is mandatory.
• Ability to engage with Quebec customers in French while collaborating with stakeholders in Atlantic Canada and nationally in English.
