This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.
β’ Develop and implement a comprehensive localization strategy tailored for the Japanese market.
β’ Establish best practices, guidelines, and quality standards for internationalization and localization across Engineering and Product teams.
β’ Oversee localization timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and launch preparations across various geographic regions.
β’ Manage localization efforts for hardware interfaces, ensuring compatibility in font, layout, screen constraints, and character sets on POS devices and payment hardware.
β’ Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to incorporate Localization Management Systems and Translation Management Systems into CI/CD pipelines for seamless, automated translation deployment.
β’ Guarantee precise translation and adaptation of intricate financial workflows, including multi-currency transactions, tax computations, localized invoicing formats, and payment regulatory disclosures.
β’ Supervise linguistic quality assurance and testing across both physical hardware and digital platforms.
β’ Work alongside Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure that localized content adheres to regional financial regulations, data privacy laws, and local payment industry standards.
β’ Maintain style guides, terminology glossaries, and translation memories specifically related to financial technology, SaaS operations, and hardware user interfaces.
β’ Select, onboard, and manage external Language Service Providers, freelance translators, and LQA testers.
β’ Monitor LSP performance and set KPIs concerning translation accuracy, turnaround time, and cost efficiency.
β’ Partner with Marketing and regional go-to-market teams to provide localized marketing materials, merchant support documentation, and onboarding processes.
β’ Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end localization programs for software and digital products in multiple markets.
β’ Familiarity with localizing products specifically for the Japanese market.
β’ Native or near-native fluency in Japanese is advantageous.
β’ Experience in fintech, payments, financial services, or other regulated sectors is highly preferred.
β’ Strong knowledge of internationalization (i18n), localization (l10n), linguistic quality assurance (LQA), and localization best practices.
β’ Practical experience with CAT tools or translation management systems, such as Smartling.
β’ Proficiency with project-tracking tools like Jira.
β’ Hands-on experience utilizing LLMs and AI-assisted translation workflows.
β’ Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and external localization vendors.
β’ Strong vendor management capabilities, including overseeing language service providers, quality metrics, timelines, and budgets.
β’ Ability to manage multiple projects, articulate technical requirements, and deliver high-quality localization within stringent deadlines.
β’ Experience in localizing hardware interfaces, mobile applications, web dashboards, or payment-related workflows is highly desirable.
β’ Availability for a full-time commitment for an initial 3β6 month interim period, with the potential for extension.
β’ Full-time interim position for an initial duration of 3β6 months, with the possibility of extension.
