Senior Linux/SDET Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive testing strategy, validation criteria, and quality standards for a customized Linux kernel that supports cutting-edge AI and Compute platforms.

• Develop, construct, and scale sophisticated automated testing frameworks and suites that emphasize performance, reliability, security, and enhancements to the Linux kernel.

• Assist in adapting existing modifications to newer versions of the kernel and virtualization infrastructure.

• Continuously enhance build processes, automation, and continuous integration/testing frameworks.

• Conduct in-depth debugging of the Linux kernel, performance benchmarking, and system-level validation tasks.

• Diagnose and isolate intricate, low-level system problems across testing and simulated production settings.

• Collaborate closely with core engineering and architecture teams to set stringent quality standards and ensure the delivery of reliable infrastructure at scale.

• Offer technical guidance, conduct code reviews, provide architectural oversight, and mentor fellow engineers in a distributed, remote work environment.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of pertinent experience in software engineering, development, or extensive systems testing within large-scale or distributed settings.

• Advanced hands-on experience in software development and validation using C, with a strong emphasis on Linux kernel-level infrastructure.

• Expert-level proficiency in system-level automation and infrastructure validation utilizing Python, Shell, and/or Perl.

• Profound and comprehensive knowledge of KVM and virtualization hypervisors.

• In-depth understanding of Virtio drivers and their architecture.

• Extensive knowledge of cgroups and resource isolation mechanisms.

• Thorough understanding of memory management, file systems, and block I/O processes.

• Strong knowledge of Ethernet/network drivers and the TCP/IP stack.

• Significant hands-on experience with Linux kernel debugging tools and advanced performance benchmarking utilities.

• A demonstrated history of designing, developing, and maintaining robust continuous integration and automated testing frameworks for low-level systems.

• Exceptional ability to systematically troubleshoot complex, unpredictable system-level problems.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent level of technical practical experience.
