
Senior Legal Counsel β Contracts, German Speaker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +1 more country.
β’ Serve as a reliable legal partner for various teams within Pennylane.
β’ Oversee commercial and operational agreements from the drafting stage to signature and subsequent follow-up.
β’ Create and negotiate purchase orders and related agreements with partner firms, primarily located outside of France, focusing currently on Germany.
β’ Manage contracts with key international suppliers.
β’ Update and enhance templates to align with regulatory, product, and business changes.
β’ Collaborate with Sales and Partnerships to simplify the contracting process.
β’ Enhance customer terms and conditions for SME clients throughout France and Europe.
β’ Assist Sales in the contracting process and automate quotation procedures.
β’ Evaluate and negotiate agreements with Pennylane integrators and resellers.
β’ Anticipate the contractual implications of significant regulations, including e-invoicing, payment services, and the EU AI Act.
β’ Contribute to the development of contract templates and playbooks.
β’ Organize and refine internal contracting processes to boost efficiency and scalability.
β’ Optimize contract management tools such as Tomorro, Pivot, and Notion.
β’ Identify opportunities to automate repetitive, low-value tasks, including through artificial intelligence.
β’ Provide clear and practical advice to Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Security, and Product teams.
β’ Educate non-legal teams and aid in fostering a robust legal culture within Pennylane.
β’ Qualified lawyer or legal counsel.
β’ Significant experience in contract law, preferably acquired in a law firm, especially in IP/IT, technology, or SaaS, and/or within a rapidly growing tech company.
β’ Proficient in English.
β’ Working knowledge of French and German languages.
β’ Strong expertise in B2B SaaS agreements, including aspects related to IP, indemnification, liability caps, SLAs, and data provisions.
β’ Independent and capable of managing matters from inception to completion.
β’ Experience in a multi-jurisdictional context, particularly across France and Europe.
β’ Interest in legal operations and technology.
β’ Experience in structuring processes or enhancing contract management tools.
β’ Ability to function as a business partner and offer pragmatic legal advice.
β’ Detail-oriented and succinct, with the skill to explain complex legal issues to non-legal audiences.
β’ Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability, prioritization, and quick iteration.
