Associate Operations Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-house legal and regulatory guidance on matters impacting the mortgage servicing and origination sector.

• Provide counsel regarding mortgage servicing documentation requirements.

• Offer legal support to operational teams.

• Draft contracts, policies, and product documentation.

• Occasionally interact with regulatory bodies.

• Inform management about changes in relevant laws and regulatory developments.

• Support the division and company’s business goals through prompt and effective legal assistance.

• Reduce potential legal liabilities and risks.

• Deliver practical, timely, and high-quality legal advice and support to designated divisions and departments.

• Collaborate with the independent Corporate Compliance Department to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree is mandatory.

• Must be licensed to practice law in the United States.

• Generally possesses 1-3 years of professional experience in the relevant field.

• Licensed to practice law and currently in good standing.

• Familiarity with core concepts, practices, and procedures related to mortgage servicing and origination.

• Knowledgeable about Federal and State regulations.

• Strong legal research, written, and verbal communication abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to multitask, prioritize, and perform well under pressure.

• Proven capability to manage workload and juggle competing priorities.

• Ability to establish and maintain rapport with superiors, colleagues, subordinates, and external company contacts.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
