Senior Lead Network Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, automate, and support network solutions in large-scale AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

• Collaborate with VM/container-based firewalls, including Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Check Point, along with cloud-native firewall solutions.

• Provide support for Kubernetes platforms and workloads across major public cloud providers.

• Create roadmaps adhering to established public cloud design standards.

• Engage in design reviews and offer network support and technical guidance to the Engineering team.

• Manage network infrastructure as code, reduce manual tasks, and uphold service ownership and accountability.

• Assess, specify, implement, and support tools for monitoring network performance, capacity, and availability.

• Expand the global network function, onboard network development engineers, provide technical leadership, and define team direction.

• Stay updated on network infrastructure advancements, network with peers, and participate in industry events.

• Join an on-call rotation as necessary.

• Occasionally travel as required to fulfill job duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with over 10 years of professional experience, including time in an enterprise SaaS organization.

• Extensive knowledge of firewalls, VPN, DNS, BGP, and public cloud networking frameworks across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Experience in managing and maintaining a production-oriented Kubernetes environment.

• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes networking and CNI implementations.

• Strong understanding of Ingress/Gateway controllers, cluster service discovery and DNS, and NetworkPolicy functionality.

• Experience working in both data center and cloud environments.

• Proficient in managing and supporting multiple Linux distributions.

• Ability to code in Golang, Python, Java, Ruby, or similar languages.

• Familiarity with Terraform and CloudFormation, or Chef, Ansible, and/or Spacelift.

• Actively utilize AI tools and methodologies to enhance workflows.

• Advanced skills in network troubleshooting, including packet capture analysis and traffic flow diagnostics.

• Capacity to take ownership and drive projects and issues to resolution.

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• Solid grasp of networking systems and protocols within public cloud environments.

• Willingness to work in a collaborative and supportive setting.
