Senior Java Engineer – High-Load, Real-Time Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale, highly available, real-time Java applications.

• Create efficient solutions for concurrent and asynchronous processing.

• Analyze and resolve challenges related to performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested production code.

• Participate in technical decision-making, engineering standards, and best practices in development.

• Work collaboratively with engineers, product specialists, and analytics teams on strategic initiatives.

• Identify technical gaps and operational issues, proposing effective solutions.

• Communicate efficiently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Take ownership of solutions delivered throughout the development lifecycle.

• Contribute to a highly scalable and available real-time advertising platform for a prominent US streaming technology company.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java backend development.

• Hands-on experience in building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems.

• Proficient in Java 11 or newer.

• Strong practical knowledge of Java concurrency and multithreading.

• Experience with asynchronous programming in Java, including the use of CompletableFuture.

• Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques.

• Strong expertise in object-oriented programming and software design principles.

• Basic comprehension of high-load system design and scalability techniques.

• Fundamental practical knowledge of Kafka.

• Proficient in English at a B2 level or higher for effective communication within an international team.

• Nice-to-have: experience with distributed caching.

• Nice-to-have: experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.

• Nice-to-have: experience with Big Data technologies.

• Nice-to-have: previous experience in adtech, streaming, media, fintech, or another high-throughput domain.
