Senior Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay.

📋 Description

• Design and evolve robust Java APIs (REST), both internal and for partners, ensuring effective error handling and security.

• Implement and extend integrations: HTTP clients, request/response mappings, idempotency, and retries where applicable.

• Engage in technical decisions regarding the service: module structure, data consistency, and performance in critical areas.

• Work with AWS and containers (Docker, Kubernetes, or orchestration depending on the project).

• Build and maintain decoupled domain services, collaborating with other teams when workflows intersect.

• Contribute to the observability of production systems through structured logs, metrics, and traces.

• Optimize performance and stability as required by the service.

• Leverage artificial intelligence applied to code development, testing, and automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong Java experience (Spring Boot or equivalent) with a clear track record in APIs.

• Real-world experience with AWS in production, or comparable cloud environments.

• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.

• API design and consumption of third-party APIs.

• Production observability (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools).

• Technical judgment for designing solutions and discussing trade-offs in the context of integrations.

• Autonomy in decision-making and delivering end-to-end quality deliverables.

• Experience in medium to high complexity systems: concurrency, distributed integrations, consistency.

• Positive attitude towards giving and receiving technical feedback.

• Experience working in an AI-assisted manner, utilizing artificial intelligence tools in coding, testing, and automation, or an active willingness to develop in this area.
