This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the design, development, and enhancement of scalable enterprise applications and cloud-native systems.
• Offer technical guidance across architecture, software development, and system integration while actively contributing code.
• Design enterprise architectures using Java 21+ and directly engage in coding tasks.
• Spearhead the development of scalable, high-performance cloud-native applications.
• Develop prototypes and reference implementations to confirm architectural decisions.
• Contribute production-level code for intricate features and integrations.
• Establish and uphold architecture and coding standards.
• Document architectural choices and system interactions.
• Lead reviews of code and design.
• Construct microservices and distributed systems.
• Design APIs and integration patterns.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams.
• Resolve complex production issues.
• Promote CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices.
• Mentor engineers through practical guidance.
• Assess and incorporate new technologies, including AI tools.
• A minimum of 8 years of Java development experience, with a focus on architectural tasks.
• Profound knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
• Expertise in JDBC-based data access.
• Familiarity with caching strategies, both distributed and local fallback.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong background in REST APIs and integrations.
• Proficient in MySQL/Aurora SQL.
• Experience with cloud services like AWS or Azure.
• Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
• Solid understanding of system performance and scalability.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Knowledge of AI-enabled applications and workflows.
• Understanding of data pipelines and automation solutions.
• Strong blend of architecture and hands-on development skills.
• Ability to navigate both design and implementation phases.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical decision-making abilities.
• Experience in Agile methodologies.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with Spring Cloud, generative AI concepts, Azure DevOps or similar tools, ERP or supply chain platforms, security frameworks, and modernizing legacy systems is preferred.
