Senior IT Project Manager – Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee 3 to 5 small- to medium-scale projects from initiation through to completion.

• Conduct meetings with project stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity.

• Create, evaluate, and manage project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.

• Handle project finances, including justification for costs and budget impacts.

• Track overall project performance against established plans.

• Lead assigned project teams by sourcing resources, setting goals, coordinating activities, and providing performance reviews.

• Identify, control, and mitigate project risks through event-trigger analysis and contingency strategies.

• Foster collaboration among internal clients, external vendors, and senior management.

• Offer insights and recommendations to Portfolio/Program Managers regarding deliverable prioritization and project execution decisions.

• Adhere to enterprise project management standards, monitor key metrics, and share lessons learned.

• Aid in information requests and the vendor request-for-proposal process.

• Provide hands-on support to project teams, including vendor requests, training materials, reports, and operational tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of relevant IT or business experience, including at least 5 years in project management roles.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in projects that involve implementing project life cycle methodologies.

• Strong analytical abilities for budgeting, forecasting, and ROI assessment of finance technology investments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of finance processes, systems, and regulatory standards.

• Familiarity with the integration of finance systems with enterprise platforms.

• Proven experience in managing multiple concurrent projects with complex interdependencies.

• Skill in building consensus and driving alignment among finance, IT, and business stakeholders.

• Proficiency in vendor management and influencing project teams without direct reporting authority.

• Outstanding communication skills for reporting project status, risks, and financial implications to executive leadership.

• Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a strong focus on agile delivery methodologies.

• In-depth understanding of the distinction between coding and engineering.

• Proficient in advanced oral English.

• Proficient in advanced Spanish.

• PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, cross-functional finance technology projects from conception to completion.

• Practical experience with Oracle EBS (Financials, Procurement, etc.) and other finance technologies like SAP and Workday.

• Expertise in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks specific to finance technology projects.

• Experience managing change in regulated environments, including SOX and GDPR compliance.

• Capability to develop and implement contingency plans for critical finance systems.

• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies or AI coding assistants.
