Senior IT Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage a secure and highly available Azure cloud infrastructure for internal platforms and business applications.

• Develop and oversee infrastructure-as-code utilizing Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.

• Create automation scripts in PowerShell, Bash, and Python for provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks.

• Develop and sustain workflows in Power Automate and Azure Automation runbooks.

• Architect, build, and operate AI-driven solutions leveraging Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Copilot, and Cowork.

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Provide support for the Jamf device management environment alongside Microsoft Entra ID Platform SSO integration.

• Manage and administer Ontinue’s Atlassian Cloud instance, which includes Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and Confluence.

• Oversee Microsoft Entra ID identity and access management, focusing on conditional access, RBAC, and least privilege principles.

• Enforce cloud security hardening and ensure compliance-aligned configurations in collaboration with the Security team.

• Monitor performance, availability, and costs while optimizing resource usage.

• Act as a senior escalation point for intricate cloud infrastructure and platform-related challenges.

• Lead and assist in cloud platform migrations, integrations, and application implementation projects.

• Mentor engineers and contribute to documentation, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Create and manage Docker containers for custom AI agents, MCP servers, and internal tooling.

• Engage in various Security & IT Operations projects or tasks as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure as the main cloud platform.

• Extensive hands-on experience in architecting, deploying, and managing Azure environments across compute, networking, storage, and PaaS services.

• Strong familiarity with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

• Proficient in PowerShell, Bash, and Python.

• Demonstrated experience with Power Automate and Azure Automation runbooks.

• Experience in building and maintaining GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.

• Background in administering Atlassian Cloud, including Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and Confluence.

• Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, encompassing SSO, conditional access, and RBAC.

• Working knowledge of cloud security practices, hardening techniques, and compliance-aligned configurations.

• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and cloud monitoring and logging for cost optimization.

• Proven track record of leading platform migration and application implementation projects.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional and multinational teams.

• Proficient with modern development tools, including Visual Studio Code, Git, branching, pull requests, and code reviews.

• Experience in building Docker containers for custom AI agents, MCP servers, and internal tooling.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Copilot/Cowork, GitHub Copilot, and Claude.ai is highly desirable.

• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, and SC-300 are highly desirable.

• AI-102, Jamf 200, Jamf 300, and HashiCorp Terraform Associate certifications are a plus.

• Hands-on experience with Jamf is a plus but not mandatory.
