Senior Principal Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, deploy, secure, and manage enterprise multi-cloud platforms across Azure Government, AWS, and hybrid environments.

• Create secure and scalable multi-cloud solutions across various security classifications.

• Lead, mentor, and oversee cloud engineering teams.

• Deploy and maintain Digital Engineering ecosystems, including Cameo/Teamwork Cloud, IBM DOORS, AutoCAD, and model-based engineering environments.

• Manage platform and infrastructure security from operating systems through cloud layers.

• Implement identity, access, and trust services such as ICAM, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and Zero Trust architectures.

• Propel cloud modernization through rehosting, replatforming, and PaaS adoption.

• Supervise outages, lead incident response, restore mission systems, and ensure resilient cloud networking and VDI environments.

• Develop platform automation utilizing Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform/Bicep, event-driven workflows, and Dynatrace-integrated AIOps.

• Engineer VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, firewall, routing, DNS, and private service endpoint architectures.

• Optimize cloud environments focusing on FinOps, cost governance, monitoring, and performance tuning.

• Support DevSecOps initiatives with GitOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and automated testing.

• Maintain enterprise client applications, VDI platforms, cloud workstations, and Digital Engineering production environments.

• Collaborate with security, compliance, and mission stakeholders.

• Prepare architecture documentation, diagrams, security packages, continuity plans, and engineering artifacts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of relevant experience.

• US citizenship is required.

• Secret security clearance with the capability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

• Extensive experience in architecting and engineering solutions across Azure Government, AWS, and hybrid environments.

• Proven leadership in managing and mentoring engineering teams in secure, mission-critical settings.

• In-depth knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, Cloud Computing SRG, and Zero Trust principles.

• Practical expertise with ICAM, SSO, MFA, conditional access, cloud networking, and security hardening.

• Proficiency in Terraform, Bicep, Ansible Automation Platform, GitOps, CI/CD, and automated testing.

• Experience in deploying and maintaining Cameo/Teamwork Cloud, IBM DOORS, AutoCAD, and VDI platforms.

• Strong incident response, problem-solving, and operational restoration skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• An advanced degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.

• Preferred experience supporting IL5/IL6 or other high-security cloud enclaves.

• Advanced experience in FinOps, cost governance, and performance optimization is preferred.

• Experience with event-driven automation and AIOps platforms is preferred.

• Industry certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, CISSP, or CCSP are preferred.
