This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.
• Assist in the execution and ongoing enhancement of the Enterprise Issue Management Program.
• Act as the main contact for issue management initiatives, encompassing program compliance, governance, execution, and tactical deployment of Archer.
• Manage the entire issue lifecycle from identification and classification to root cause analysis, corrective action planning, validation, remediation, reporting, and escalation.
• Facilitate the intake, classification, tracking, and reporting of issues arising from regulatory examinations, internal audits, compliance testing, risk assessments, and business self-identification.
• Monitor issue records throughout validation in collaboration with issue owners, business and risk management, as well as second- and third-line risk functions.
• Keep issue management procedures, standards, templates, job aids, and system guidance up to date.
• Collaborate with Business Risk Leaders and business unit management to implement consistent standards and ensure timely updates to issue records.
• Offer guidance on Archer workflows and documentation expectations.
• Support training and awareness initiatives for the Issue Management Program.
• Assess and challenge issue classification, severity, root cause, source, and risk rating criteria.
• Ensure timely resolution of issues and corrective actions while confirming that documentation meets sustainability and validation requirements.
• Maintain precise and comprehensive Archer data.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of Archer and Power BI dashboards, reporting logic, data feeds, and report templates.
• Track aging, overdue items, extension requests, and missed milestones; coordinate the escalation of delayed, systemic, regulatory, or high-risk issues.
• Prepare reports on issue status, trend analysis, and governance for senior leadership and risk committees.
• Collaborate with Archer administrators and technology teams on workflow improvements, data field modifications, reporting needs, user acceptance testing, and defect resolution.
• Take responsibility for tasks and challenges encountered in the designated position.
• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Finance/Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience, preferably with prior Risk Management and/or Internal Audit experience in banking.
• Previous management and/or supervisory experience in leading risk management programs.
• Comprehensive understanding of enterprise issue management lifecycle practices.
• Experience with issue intake, root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and closure validation.
• Ability to provide credible challenges while fostering productive relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in communicating complex ideas clearly to executive, technical, and operational audiences.
• Excellent critical thinking abilities and capacity to convert ambiguous issues into actionable plans.
• Self-driven and adaptable, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, including its products and services.
• Strong organizational skills or experience in project management.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with mid to senior-level management, other internal clients, peers, and audit teams.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Governance Risk and Control (GRC) applications.
• Capable of effective communication in person, via phone, and through electronic channels.
• Ability to frequently use a computer, including typing and maintaining focus on a monitor.
• Capacity to sit, walk, and/or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to bend and reach.
