Summer Intern, Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the collection, clarification, and documentation of business, data, and system requirements.

• Develop and revise user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, and supplementary notes in Jira.

• Engage in discussions with stakeholders and technical teams; document decisions, inquiries, action items, and follow-up requirements.

• Aid in the creation and upkeep of product and process documentation using Confluence, Word, Excel, or similar tools.

• Evaluate system inputs, outputs, and data workflows to ensure requirements are clear and comprehensive.

• Provide support to Technical and QA teams regarding requirement inquiries and clarifications.

• Monitor assigned tasks and communicate updates, risks, and questions.

• Acquire knowledge and participate in Agile and Scrum methodologies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Contribute to actual project work, documentation, testing, and team collaboration to support ICF’s Sightline platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• By the start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours is required, ideally in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Must be a citizen of the United States.

• Must reside within the U.S.

• Must have authorization to work in the U.S.

• All work must be conducted in the U.S. as per contract stipulations.

• Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, data analysis, software testing, or project management gained through coursework or projects.

• Exceptional presentation and communication abilities.

• A strong sense of technical curiosity.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and resolve technical challenges.

• Ability to convey complex system issues clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel and users.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with Agile software development practices.

• Basic understanding of programming and machine learning principles.

• Awareness of architectural concepts such as cloud computing.

• Knowledge of full software development life cycles and process improvement methodologies.
