Senior Pharma Business Analyst – DATAstream

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Pharma/Life Sciences clients to comprehend their business processes, data needs, challenges, and future objectives.

• Facilitate sessions for gathering business and functional requirements with client stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs).

• Convert business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, data needs, and process flows.

• Evaluate commercial Pharma data to understand how various sources impact business processes and analytics.

• Work alongside Data Architects, Data Engineers, MDM teams, BI teams, and Solution Architects to turn requirements into technical solutions.

• Assist in DATAstream implementations covering data integration, commercial data warehousing, MDM, reporting/analytics, and AI/data use cases.

• Gain insight into source systems, data feeds, data structures, business rules, transformations, and downstream reporting requirements.

• Establish data mapping, business rules, data quality requirements, and acceptance criteria.

• Engage in data profiling, data validation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and issue resolution.

• Develop and maintain documents for business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, data dictionaries, mapping documents, and user stories.

• Detect data quality issues and collaborate with technical teams on remediation strategies.

• Prioritize requirements and oversee scope management throughout client engagements.

• Aid in solution demonstrations and convey DATAstream capabilities to business stakeholders.

• Offer domain expertise during the design and implementation of solutions.

• Assist in pre-sales activities, discovery workshops, RFP/RFI responses, estimations, and solution discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in Business Analysis, ideally within the Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences sector.

• Comprehensive understanding of Pharma commercial business processes and data.

• Proven experience in collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders.

• Excellent skills in gathering and documenting requirements.

• Capability to translate business needs into data and technical specifications.

• Strong knowledge of data integration, data warehousing, and data management principles.

• Experience in data mapping, data validation, UAT, and ensuring data quality.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple client priorities effectively.

• Familiarity with Agile delivery environments.

• Prior experience with Pharma Commercial Data Warehouses/CDWs is preferred.

• Experience with MDM implementations is preferred.

• Knowledge of Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or Databricks is preferred.

• Familiarity with Power BI or other BI tools is preferred.

• Basic SQL knowledge with the ability to perform data analysis is preferred.

• Experience with APIs, SFTP, EDI, and other data integration methods is preferred.

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms is preferred.

• Background in client-facing consulting or implementation roles is preferred.

• Exposure to AI/ML use cases in Life Sciences is an advantage.

• Practical experience with Pharma commercial or Life Sciences data.

• Ability to engage directly with client stakeholders and SMEs.

• Familiarity with platforms such as Veeva CRM, Veeva Network, IQVIA, Symphony, MMIT, Salesforce, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Power BI, or similar is a plus.
