Senior iOS Engineer, Swift/SwiftUI, Senior Android Engineer, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design and development of OleOle’s native applications for iOS or Android.

• Collaborate with backend, product, and design teams on functionalities related to social networking, messaging, video, live scores, and payment systems.

• Develop native mobile applications utilizing Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose.

• Integrate backend APIs and real-time services.

• Create social feeds, microblogging features, short-form vertical videos, encrypted messaging, real-time chat, and voice/video calling capabilities.

• Implement features for contacts, invitations, user discovery, live scores, match events, and push notifications.

• Ensure integration of authentication, account management, secure sessions, wallets, payments, and rewards systems.

• Facilitate localization and translation processes.

• Optimize application start-up times, scrolling performance, media playback, networking, caching, battery consumption, and functionality under poor network conditions.

• Oversee testing, debugging, and ensure production reliability.

• Manage the complete process of feature development from architecture to production release on the App Store or Google Play.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with a significant focus on native iOS or Android development.

• Mastery of Swift with production experience in SwiftUI, or mastery of Kotlin with production experience in Jetpack Compose.

• Proven experience in architecting, developing, and launching complex consumer mobile applications.

• Background in building substantial products featuring social feeds, messaging, short-form videos, live content, or real-time communications.

• Extensive experience with WebSockets and real-time/event-driven mobile applications.

• Production experience with WebRTC or similar voice/video calling technologies.

• For iOS: strong proficiency in AVFoundation, Swift concurrency, APNs, Keychain/secure storage, iOS lifecycle, and App Store submission.

• For Android: strong expertise in Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, CameraX, Media3/ExoPlayer, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Android Keystore/secure storage, Android lifecycle, and Google Play submission.

• Experience in integrating complex backend APIs and collaborating directly with backend engineers during API evolution.

• Solid understanding of networking, caching, memory management, mobile performance optimization, and handling poor or intermittent network conditions.

• Strong debugging, profiling, testing, and production troubleshooting capabilities.

• Proven ability to independently manage a significant application or feature from architecture to production.

• Must be an active engineer who writes production code rather than primarily focusing on engineering management.

• Ability to adapt to ambiguous situations, shifting priorities, and the dynamics of early-stage company growth.

• Knowledge of football and international sports is advantageous.
