Senior Information Protection Advisor – CMAS Firewall, Network Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Georgia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate firewall policy change requests to detect security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

• Analyze network security threats and propose suitable controls or remediation strategies.

• Offer guidance on firewall configurations, network segmentation, security zones, and secure alternatives that align with business requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and address firewall and network security challenges.

• Aid in the development and upkeep of firewall security standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Oversee and enhance the security posture of both inbound and outbound network traffic.

• Assist with regulatory, contractual, and internal compliance audits.

• Work closely with auditors to supply documentation and clarify security processes and controls.

• Convey security risks, recommendations, and escalation requirements to stakeholders and leadership.

• Manage multiple security assessments and priorities within a complex network setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years concentrated on network security.

• Proficiency in security operations, network security, or security systems management.

• In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, and TLS.

• Familiarity with firewall policy management, network segmentation, security controls, network architecture, and information security risk.

• Experience in assessing technical security requirements while considering business needs.

• Capability to identify security threats and suggest practical solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Palo Alto, Check Point, AlgoSec, ServiceNow, or similar security and firewall management tools.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS or OpenShift cloud or container environments.

• Preferred: Background in supporting audited security processes and responding to internal or external auditors.

• Preferred: Experience collaborating directly with customers and stakeholders to provide security advice and best practices.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.

• A home internet connection through cable broadband or fiber optic service with a minimum of 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload is required for remote work.
