Senior Human Resources Business Partner

📋 Description

• Act as a strategic HR business partner and a trusted advisor for designated business units.

• Provide guidance to leaders on employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, performance management, and talent development.

• Offer proactive insights and propose people strategies that align with business objectives.

• Collect and analyze HR data to create and implement resolution plans.

• Provide advice on complex and ambiguous people-related issues.

• Represent the interests of the client group within the HR function and contribute to shaping HR strategy.

• Lead initiatives for development and succession planning.

• Oversee workforce structure changes, which include job descriptions, risk assessments, change management, and communications.

• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on recruitment and onboarding processes.

• Formulate and advocate for base pay recommendations.

• Direct organizational design and capability enhancement efforts.

• Assist leaders and teams in navigating structural and cultural changes.

• Support performance management, coaching, training, development, and disciplinary actions.

• Provide counsel on intricate employee relations matters, coaching, and conflict resolution.

• Conduct internal investigations, documenting findings and resolutions.

• Manage employee separation processes.

• Mentor senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, organizational dynamics, team performance, and complex people decisions.

• Interpret HR policies and ensure compliance.

• Aid in the implementation and adoption of HR programs, policies, and change initiatives.

• Collaborate with HR functional teams to develop integrated enterprise solutions.

• Lead cross-functional HR projects and initiatives.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in HR.

• Maintain headcount reporting and organizational charts.

• Oversee HR activities, including transfers, job changes, and ad hoc reporting.

• Ensure accurate HR administration, data integrity, and adherence to policies.

• Mentor and guide less experienced HRBPs.

• Adhere to company policies and standards while performing other designated duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in human resources roles is required.

• At least 5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner or similar role directly supporting senior leadership, demonstrating the ability to operate independently, is required.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing strategic HR recommendations and innovative solutions for complex business and operational challenges with minimal oversight is required.

• Direct experience supporting operations based in California, with a strong understanding of California employment law.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Human Resources Management is preferred.

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred upon hiring.

• Extensive cross-functional knowledge across HR areas, including compensation, benefits, workforce planning, talent development, and performance management.

• Familiarity with employment law and regulations, with the capability to interpret and apply employment law to complex, ambiguous, or high-risk scenarios.

• Advanced knowledge of HR principles and practices, with the ability to exercise sound, independent judgment.

• Capability to drive human resources strategies and programs from concept through execution.

• Strong consultative and relationship-building skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, influence, negotiation, conflict resolution, and coaching abilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Solid business acumen.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.

• Exceptional verbal, listening, and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

• Experienced with applicant tracking systems and HRIS; Workday experience is preferred.

• Must maintain high levels of professionalism and strict confidentiality.

• Willingness to travel domestically, with 20% travel required.
