Senior Human Resources Advisor – Voluntary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide direct HR support and guidance to the Freeda Committee.

• Attend around six Committee meetings annually and actively participate in Freeda activities.

• Support effective oversight of all HR-related matters.

• Offer advice on HR governance issues and specific internal HR circumstances.

• Assist in the development of current HR policies.

• Ensure compliance with Jersey employment law and associated legal frameworks.

• Cultivate and sustain a productive relationship with the Committee and CEO.

• Provide assistance and guidance to the CEO on HR matters as necessary.

• Support governance oversight and compliance with the Jersey Charities Commission, Jersey Care Commission, and the requirements of Freeda’s Constitution.

• Contribute to the review of the annual strategic plan, organizational objectives, and the yearly Freeda report from an HR perspective.

• Help ensure that Freeda’s activities are in alignment with its mission and values.

• Engage in public events and support fundraising efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must have held a senior HR management position in an organization for at least 5 years.

• Experience with Jersey employment law is essential.

• Previous HR leadership roles are preferred.

• Some experience in governance, management, and strategic oversight is necessary.

• Prior experience as a trustee or on a committee is advantageous.

• In-depth knowledge of Jersey employment law and related matters is required.

• A strong understanding and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion is critical.

• Awareness of the causes and effects of violence and abuse against women and girls is important.

• Solid knowledge of governance and financial management is essential.

• Familiarity with the Jersey Care Commission and/or Social Services policies is a plus.

• A commitment to upholding Freeda’s mission and values is necessary.

• Strong leadership, management, coordination, and strategic thinking abilities are required.

• Capability to analyze, solve problems, and lead others is essential.

• Good independent judgment is a must.

• Networking skills are an advantage.
