πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Deliver expert knowledge in human factors engineering throughout the testing and evaluation lifecycle of CBRN detection systems.

β€’ Ensure that operator interfaces, workflows, and system designs facilitate safe, precise, and efficient usage by first responders and other end users.

β€’ Integrate human performance data into planning and reporting for test and evaluation.

β€’ Assess usability and workload during both developmental and operational testing phases.

β€’ Provide guidance to Product Management Offices on design or training modifications aimed at minimizing operator errors and enhancing mission effectiveness.

β€’ Lead human factors analysis and evaluation throughout the testing of CBRN detection systems.

β€’ Embed analysis findings into test and evaluation master plans and test reports.

β€’ Design and implement human-in-the-loop test events at government and contractor facilities.

β€’ Engage in Test Readiness Reviews, Deficiency Review Boards, and Operational Readiness Reviews.

β€’ Examine operator error data, near-miss/incident reports, and design of system alarms/alerts.

β€’ Suggest design, training, or procedural mitigations as necessary.

β€’ Collaborate with systems engineers and program stakeholders to ensure human factors requirements are traceable, testable, and incorporated into requirements documents, ICDs, and Systems Engineering Plans.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Industrial/Systems Engineering, or a related field.

β€’ At least 8 years of experience in human factors engineering.

β€’ Experience in supporting DoD or DHS test and evaluation programs.

β€’ Proven experience in conducting usability testing, task analysis, workload assessment, and evaluating human-system interfaces for complex operational equipment.

β€’ Familiarity with human systems integration practices within federal acquisition test and evaluation frameworks.

β€’ Strong technical writing capabilities for human factors sections of test plans, test and evaluation master plans, and test reports.

β€’ Ability to present findings to audiences that may not be technically inclined in human factors.

β€’ Must be a U.S. Citizen.

β€’ Must possess an active Secret clearance.
