Senior Human Centered Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute secure, cutting-edge solutions that support essential missions.

• Work in collaboration with technical leaders, business stakeholders, developers, analysts, and users.

• Generate mid-to-high fidelity wireframes and prototypes.

• Quickly prototype application design solutions, including look, feel, and aesthetics.

• Implement branding, layout, and aesthetic principles to create professional user interfaces.

• Manage visual design phases from concept to pre-production handoff to developers.

• Conduct user interviews and usability assessments.

• Compile user research and feedback into actionable insights.

• Prepare documentation for designed user interfaces.

• Evaluate user feedback against design requirements and integrate findings into designs.

• Present and clarify design choices to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Define and execute innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, user experience, and team performance.

• Collaborate with development teams across various projects to create efficient, clear user interfaces.

• Refine designs based on feedback from teams, users, and stakeholders.

• Keep design specifications current and communicate usage intent to developers.

• Manage multiple design tasks, track dependencies, and meet sprint deadlines.

• Propose and spearhead enhancements to design processes, tools, and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in human-centered design.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic/Web Design, Human Factors, Human-Centered Design, User Experience, web design/development, or an IT-related field.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

• U.S. citizenship is required to be eligible for the security clearance.

• Must reside within the continental United States.

• Proven experience in leading and applying HCD principles and best practices to application designs.

• Experience in UI/UX design and development.

• Proficient in design, wireframing, and prototyping tools.

• Competent in graphic design.

• Comprehensive understanding of user needs, journey mapping, usability, accessibility, and iterative design processes.

• Familiarity with UI/X design, Human Factors, and Human-Centered Design best practices and methodologies.

• High proficiency in Figma.

• Knowledge of visual hierarchy, WCAG accessibility standards, responsive/mobile-first design principles, and user-centered design principles.

• Skilled in design documentation, annotating designs, maintaining revision history, and organizing reusable assets.

• Foundational knowledge of HTML/CSS.

• Understanding of Agile ceremonies, sprints, backlog grooming, and collaborative working sessions.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Strong organizational abilities and capability to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to engage, navigate, and adapt to challenges in a dynamic environment.

• Proficiency in Salesforce Lightning Design System is a plus.

• Familiarity with Salesforce page layouts and Lightning components is a plus.
