This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive HSEQ strategy across Ramboll Americas’ EPC/EPCM project portfolio.

• Act as the primary HSEQ advisor for Project Directors and the leadership teams of EPC/EPCM.

• Facilitate the integration of Ramboll’s HSEQ program and convert expectations into project-specific controls and leadership practices.

• Offer HSEQ guidance throughout proposals and during contract negotiations.

• Develop organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, interfaces, and governance models for HSEQ.

• Create standardized HSEQ execution plans spanning engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover phases.

• Set expectations for construction readiness, which includes contractor mobilization, competency assurance, risk assessment, and field execution controls.

• Ensure alignment of HSEQ standards and performance requirements among contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party stakeholders.

• Lead onboarding processes for contractors, alignment sessions, audits, and regular performance evaluations.

• Integrate HSEQ requirements into contracting strategies, procurement packages, bid documents, mobilization plans, and contractor management processes.

• Provide governance and assurance regarding hazard identification, construction risk assessments, high-risk work reviews, and site controls.

• Evaluate controls for lifting operations, electrical work, confined space entry, work at height, ground disturbance, energization, commissioning, and simultaneous operations.

• Offer oversight and escalation support for high-potential or high-severity incidents.

• Conduct site visits, engage with leadership, and perform assurance reviews.

• Mentor project and contractor leadership teams to enhance safety leadership and leading indicators.

• Foster open communication, psychological safety, learning, and continuous improvement.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, client requirements, and Ramboll HSEQ standards.

• Represent Ramboll during client audits, regulatory inspections, and EPC/EPCM governance meetings.

• Establish consistent reporting on HSEQ performance, utilizing both leading and lagging indicators.

• Convert performance data into actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of progressive on-site HSEQ leadership experience with significant exposure to large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.

• Strong background in supporting multi-contractor, high-risk industrial construction settings.

• Proven capability to influence without having direct authority.

• Demonstrated experience in supporting construction management delivery models where HSEQ performance is achieved through contractor execution and effective client/contractor interface management.

• Working knowledge of construction-phase HSEQ controls, contractor management, incident investigation, assurance, and regulatory compliance.

• Willingness to travel regularly to project locations.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• Professional certifications such as CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, or CRSP are preferred.

• Experience in energy transition, power, renewables, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or major infrastructure projects is preferred.

• Experience in supporting owner’s EPC/EPCM models across multiple concurrent projects is preferred.

• International or remote project experience is preferred.
